Newcastle the visitors for tonight's clash

STOKE CITY's Elite Development Squad will be looking to get their first win of the Under-21s Premier League season tonight when they face Newcastle United at the Britannia Stadium (7.30pm).

Dave Kevan's side have started slowly with defeats against Manchester United and Aston Villa, although a selection of players helped the Reserves to a 2-1 victory at Morecambe in the Central League Cup last Wednesday.

Newcastle were involved in a thriller in their opening game of the season when they won 6-4 against Tottenham Hotspur, and the Potters will have to keep an eye on frontman Adam Campbell, who netted a hat-trick in that game.

The Under-21s format has replaced the Central Reserve League, with the aim of giving more time for young players to develop. Other opponents for Stoke in Group 2 include Tottenham, Southampton and Sunderland.

The visit of the latter will also take place at City's home ground on Monday October 8th.

Stoke City squad: Dan Bachmann, James Campbell, Michael Clarkson, Lucas Dawson, Ben Glasgow, Jadan Hall, Ben Heneghan, Jordan Keane, Andrew Musungu, Ryan O'Reilly, Immanuel Parry, Jordan Richardson, George Rigg, Karim Rossi, Adam Thomas, Sam Westley.

Newcastle United squad: Jak Alnwick, Jonathan Mitchell, Alex Nicholson, Michael Riley, James Tavernier, Curtis Good, Lubo Satka, Steven Logan, Conor Newton, Michael Richardson, Dennis Knight, Bradden Inman, Marcus Maddison, Adam Campbell, Alex Gilliead, JJ Hooper.

For all supporters who wish to come along to the Britannia Stadium this evening, entry and parking is free. A full match report will appear later on stokecityfc.com.
