STOKE CITY’S Under-21 side will be aiming to build upon their first victory of the season when they entertain Sunderland at the Britannia Stadium tonight.
The young Potters emerged from a difficult start to their Premier League Group Two campaign with an excellent 1-0 victory at Southampton seven days ago.
That triumph was secured by way of a Jordan Richardson strike midway through the first half when they made the long trip to the Staplewood Training Ground.
Professional Development Coach Dave Kevan was delighted with that performance, praising the players for their discipline and the way they kept their shape.
He will be hoping they can reproduce that form when they take on Sunderland, who overcame the Potters at Under-18 level in the Premier Academy League on Saturday.
City’s Under-18s were leading 2-0 through goals from Jack Nardiello and Kris Scott, but the home side came storming back and snatched a last minute winner.
Tonight’s game is a 7.30pm kick-off at the Britannia Stadium and entry is free.
