Winger eager to maintain good form over the coming weeks...

MARKO ARNAUTOVIC says he and his teammates won’t allow any complacency to slip into their performances between now and the end of the season . . . after all but securing themselves a seventh consecutive top-flight campaign.

The Potters have racked up three wins and a draw from their four Premier League games in March, and will be hoping to hit the magical 40-point barrier with a fourth victory of the month against Steve Bruce’s Hull City at the Britannia Stadium tomorrow.

Austrian ace Arnautovic has played a pivotal role in the Club’s recent upturn in fortunes after shining in the recent victories over West Ham United and Aston Villa, and says that his attentions are now firmly set on another impressive three-point haul this weekend.

“I think it has been a very good month for us,” the former Werder Bremen star told Stoke City Player in the build-up to the game.

“We haven’t lost in March which is really pleasing and we hope that we can continue like this between now and the end of the season.

“We have worked incredibly hard all year with the coach and his team trying to adapt to the new concept that he has implemented into our play, which I think is helping us.

“Everyone of us has done well, especially this month, but we need to remain focused now and keep the run going.

“It is an important seven games coming up for us because we have the opportunity of ending the season in a good place, so we need to work hard for seven more weeks and keep doing what we have been doing.”

He added: “I don’t think there is any chance of us allowing the good results to affect us. We will continue to give everything we have to make sure that we maintain this run of form, starting tomorrow.”

The flamboyant winger has flourished in the starting eleven in recent weeks, and rediscovered the same form that prompted current Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho to acquire his services at Inter Milan four years ago.

“I try every game to give my absolute best, and I always try every game to do something good for the benefit of the team, but it isn’t always possible to do that,” the 24-year-old said.

“I have been happy with my performances over the last few games and I hope that I can continue like this and score more goals and create more assists.

“I feel very happy here at Stoke City, I like being here, I like my teammates and of course I really like the supporters too.

“It is fantastic to have them behind me, and whether we play at home or away the fans are always right behind me and the rest of the team too.

“When they call my name it makes me very happy, but they also sing for the other players too which is very good also.

“There backing has been incredible for me and has helped me to settle in here, and I know that they can help us get the points we want over the next seven games to finish the season really well.

“This is a good place to be, we are looking upwards and I am really looking forward to my next few years here at the Club.”
