TONY PULIS opted to line up with three central defenders to counter Wigan Athletic’s formation for the Barclays Premier League match at the Britannia Stadium.
Pulis recalled American international Geoff Cameron to City’s defence after being rested at the weekend and he was earmarked to operate alongside captain Ryan Shawcross and Robert Huth, with Dean Whitehead and Matthew Etherington the wing backs.
City’s manager also brought back Scottish international Charlie Adam and club record signing Peter Crouch into his starting line-up to take on the Latics.
There were five changes in total to the side beaten in the FA Cup by Manchester City at the weekend with Thomas Sorensen, Andy Wilkinson, Ryan Shotton, Michael Kightly and Kenwyne Jones the players to make way in the reshuffle.
