Pulis makes two changes for Craven Cottage encounter

MARC WILSON made his return to the first team fold in the live televised encounter against Fulham on Saturday . . . as boss Tony Pulis made two changes to his starting eleven for the clash at Craven Cottage.

The Republic of Ireland international replaced Andy Wilkinson in the backline, to mark his first competitive game since breaking his leg against Sunderland back in October.

The only other change from the side that beat Reading at the Britannia Stadium two weeks ago was the return of American star Geoff Cameron, who came in to the side at the expense of Michael Kightly.

Deadline day acquisition Brek Shea was named in the matchday squad for the first time, having impressed in the two recent behind closed door friendlies against Burnley and Scunthorpe United.

The rest of the side remained the same with Bosnian Asmir Begovic ushering a back four which comprised of Ryan Shotton, Robert Huth, skipper Ryan Shawcross and the returning Wilson.

The midfield quintet was made up of Jonathan Walters, Glenn Whelan, Steven Nzonzi, former Houston Dynamo man Cameron and Matthew Etherington.

Last season’s top-goalscorer Peter Crouch spearheaded the side, as they looked to record a league double over the Cottagers.

STOKE CITY: Begovic; Shotton, Huth, Shawcross (c), Wilson; Walters, Nzonzi, Whelan, Cameron, Etherington; Crouch. Sorensen, Whitehead, Adam, Kightly, Shea, Jerome, Jones.
