THE WORLD CUP is coming to the Potteries as the two region's top clubs Stoke City and Port Vale stage a five-a-side tournament based on this summer's festival of football in Brazil – and you can take part!
Thirty-two teams representing all the nations taking part in the real thing in South America will battle it out for the honour of lifting the first Kicks World Cup trophy.
In the process they will raise valuable funds which will be split between the Stoke City Community Trust, which delivers an extensive range of activities and support programmes to raise the hopes and aspiration of people of all ages, abilities and social backgrounds in the city of Stoke and North Staffordshire and Port Vale's two chosen charities Gingerbread, which supports single parents, and Homestart, which helps to develop parent/child relationships.
It's not too late to enter, although please note that each team must be under 18 and raise £100 to be donated to the two charities.
As well as the honour of being named Kicks World Cup winners, the team that raises the most money will win a Stoke City shirt signed by the Potters' first team squad, plus other goodies.
A first team player from both clubs will make the draw for the competition on Tuesday 29th April where each team will be allocated a country to represent.
The group stages will take place at the Stoke Powerleague situated, close to the Britannia Stadium, on Saturday 14th June and Goals Soccer Centre on Sunday 15th June, with the final stages to be held on Saturday 28th June at the Northwood Stadium.
