Asmir To Take Aim

Thumbnail
HE MAY BE one of the finest goalkeepers in Europe but will Asmir Begovic cut it when he steps up to the 'oche' for Stoke City's 'Big Darts Night' on Tuesday 26th November?

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has become the first Potters star to sign up for the eagerly-awaited event in the Tony Waddington Suite at the Britannia Stadium.

Twice former World Darts Champion Adrian Lewis and Andy Hamilton will act as team captains and mentor Begovic and three other footballers, as they battle to come out victorious in front of an anticipated sold out crowd.

Begovic also took part in the event last year - along with Peter Crouch, Charlie Adam, Geoff Cameron and Brek Shea - and is happy to test his ability with the arrows once again.

The 2012 event saw Dave 'Chizzy' Chisnall overcame  lifelong Stoke fan Lewis in a tense and deciding shoot-out to secure a share of the spoils for his team, after 'Team Lewis' found themselves one point in front going into the main event of what proved to be a hugely successful evening.

Prior to the exhibition, each professional took turns to pick their chosen players, following an auction which gave a member of the crowd the once in a lifetime opportunity of being part of one of the teams, alongside their football and darting heroes.

Tickets for the 'Big Darts Night' are available now, priced £30 which includes a basket meal.
