ASMIR BEGOVIC says it is imperative for the side not to dwell over their opening day defeat against Midlands rivals Aston Villa.
The Potters succumbed to a 1-0 reverse at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with Andreas Weimann proving to be the hero for the visitors after stunning the hosts with a second half strike.
The Bosnian international acknowledges the players were well below their best and is targeting an immediate response in front of the live television cameras next Sunday.
"It's certainly not the start we wanted," the 27-year old told Stoke City Player following the encounter.
"It's not ideal because nobody likes to lose the first game but these things happen and you just have to move on from it and come back stronger.
"We just couldn't get through them at any point which is disappointing. To be fair to them they came here with a good game plan and really frustrated us.
"Every week brings with it a new challenge and we now have to look forward to the Hull game next weekend."
He added: "We know it will be a very tough game but we will go there with the intentions of responding from this and getting those first three points on the board."
