STOKE CITY have today given the go-ahead for teenage striker Ryan Brunt to join League Two side Bristol Rovers on a free transfer.

The 19-year-old has joined Rovers on a two-and-a-half year agreement and returns to Bristol where he began his career in the youth set-up at Ashton Gate.

Brunt had recently returned from a loan spell with Leyton Orient where he scored three goals in 22 appearances for the League One side.

Having initially joined City's Academy as a young professional in 2010, the Birmingham-born player also had spells out on loan with Nantwich Town, Luton Town and Tranmere Rovers after he had been sidelined by a cruciate ligament injury.
