STOKE CITY goalkeeper Jack Butland has today joined Championship side Derby County on a one month loan.

The England Under-21 captain has joined the high-flying Rams after goalkeeper Lee Grant picked up an ankle knock in their win against Reading last weekend.

He will be eligible to feature for Steve McClaren's side away at Blackpool on Tuesday night as they look to claim top spot from Watford.

The Midlands club currently sit second in the Championship table having kept five clean sheets in the league and picking up 23 points from their opening 12 games.

Butland has featured twice for the Potters so far this season in the Capital One Cup, starting in the victories against Portsmouth and Sunderland.
