STOKE CITY'S Tony Scholes has spoken of his delight at being named Premier League CEO's CEO of the Year and dedicated his award to his colleagues at the Britannia Stadium.
Mr Scholes was last night presented with his award, sponsored by Now: Pensions, at the fcbusiness Awards 2013 at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge.
He topped a poll of fellow Premier League executives and told stokecityfc.com: "It's particularly pleasing in any walk of life to be recognised by your peers and this is no exception because they understand what the job entails.
"However, I believe the award is recognition of the Football Club and not just my role within it.
"It's about the whole Club, the whole staff and I would like to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues at the Britannia Stadium because without their support and efforts my role would be extremely difficult."
Manager Mark Hughes added: "I'd like to congratulate Tony on being named Premier League Chief Executive of the Year.
"I've only worked with him since June but he has been very supportive to both my staff and myself and I've found him to be a man of skill and great integrity."
