TONY PULIS helped to light up Stoke-on-Trent for Christmas on a night when people had to brave bad weather to see the big switch-on.
Stoke City's manager was one of the special guests bringing festive cheer to the city centre when he joined a number of other local celebrities who had enjoyed the honour of playing a part in the Olympic Torch Relay earlier this year.
Pulis had the distinction of switching on the Christmas lights at the annual event after being welcomed by the Lord Mayor Terry Crowe.
"It is a great honour and privilege to be asked to play a part in another major event in what has been a truly memorable year for the city," he said.
"Taking part in the torch relay back in May was an immensely proud moment and it was certainly a piece of history I wouldn't have missed for the world.
"Christmas is a very special time of the year for us all and this annual switch-on helps to get people in the mood for all the festive celebrations."
The event was hosted by Signal 1 Breakfast Show presenters Perry and Louise and also featured the Loveable Rogues as well as other performers.
