PAUL LAKIN has been appointed Stoke City's new Chief Commercial Officer.
He moves to the Britannia Stadium from Wolves, where he had held a similar position for the last six years and been responsible for a significant growth in the Black Country club's commercial income.
Lakin has held senior positions in sport for more than a decade having also spent four years as Chief Executive of Hull Kingston Rovers rugby league club.
Stoke City Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: "I'm delighted to welcome Paul to the role of Head of Commercial at the Britannia Stadium.
"Paul has an excellent reputation in the world of sport and I'm looking forward to working closely with him as we look to continue to develop and grow our commercial revenue."
Lakin, who is 43, added: "I am delighted to be joining Stoke City, a top 10 Premier League club. These are exciting times as the team continues to flourish and I relish the opportunity to develop and grow the business across all income streams, locally, nationally and internationally."
Lakin, who lives in Staffordshire with his family, spent four years as Commercial Director for east coast rail franchise First Group before moving into the world of sport.
