Come Dine With...

STOKE CITY'S first team stars are bidding to rein supreme in the kitchen this evening as the Club holds its annual Stoke Kitchen event at the Britannia Stadium, in association with Wrights.

Celebrity TV chef Gino D'Acampo will be putting the likes of Erik Pieters and Jermaine Pennant through their paces in the Tony Waddington Suite, as they temporarily switch their attentions away from the stresses and strains of Barclays Premier League action.

Each of the stars will be hoping to be crowned 'Masterchef 2013', and follow in the footsteps of previous winners Michael Owen, Matthew Upson and Rory Delap.

Speaking ahead of the event Pennant said that he was relishing the opportunity of working alongside somebody of D'Acampo's calibre, but stopped short of confirming whether he was actually seeking to win the contest.

"If I win, the girlfriend will be expecting me to cook more often at home, so I'm not too sure about that," he joked, speaking to Stoke City Player.

"I'm just here to have a good time, enjoy myself and learn some skills from Gino. Of course, I would like to win it - all of the lads do, but as long as I don't come last I will be happy."

Dutch international Pieters added: "I'm really looking forward to it. I have always had an enjoyment of cooking, and being here tonight will be good fun.

"I consider myself to be a decent cook, so I will see what I can do tonight. Hopefully the food is good and everyone goes home happy, if not, I will be in trouble!"

D'Acampo, who shot to stardom upon being crowned 'King of the Jungle' in the 2009 edition of 'I'm A Celebrity Get me Out Of Here' said it is interesting to see the players out of their comfort zone.

"It's funny seeing them in this sort of environment, and I really enjoy it to be honest with you," the Italian said.

"The guys seem to be fun and bubbly this year and from just working with them in the prep room I really think we will have a good time this evening.

"If anything they need to relax a little bit, because it can get hot and busy in a kitchen - but if they can do that then I am sure they will dish up something special." will bring you all the details from the event, including the winner, on Friday morning, so keep an eye out for that, as well as an exclusive video highlight package which will be available on Stoke City Player later in the day.
