Derby Day Delight For Kightly

Michael Kightly played 68-minutes as high-flying Burnley ended their 35-year hoodoo to beat local rivals Blackburn Rovers 2-1 in the Championship last weekend.

The Potters loan man was replaced just after the hour-mark by Ross Wallace as the Clarets came from behind to salvage all three points in the final seventeen minutes at Ewood Park.

Jordan Rhodes ended a nine match goal drought to give Blackburn an early lead, before Jason Shackell and Danny Ings bagged the points in the Clarets favour.

It was a fiery affair in the Lancashire derby as Burnley begin to edge ever closer to the Premier League. The win means Sean Dyche's side have a healthy eight point advantage over third placed Derby County.

Jack Butland had a day to forget as Leeds United were thumped 5-1 at home to Bolton Wanderers.

The England Under-21 international was making his home debut for United, but there was nothing he could do to stop a rampant Bolton side from picking up their biggest win of the season.

Leeds currently sit comfortable in twelfth place, eight points from the Play-Off places and fifteen from the relegation zone.

Juan Agudelo played just over thirty minutes for FC Utrecht in their away defeat to PSV Eindhoven.

The American replaced Yassin Ayoub on the hour mark, with the Dutch club chasing PSV's 51st minute goal.

Agudelo helped make an impact, but Utrecht struggled to find an equaliser after having the home side on the back foot in the later stages of the game.

FC Utrecht are two places and three points clear of the relegation places in the Eredivisie.

Jamie Ness was an unused substitute in Leyton Orients goalless draw away at Notts County in League One.

Cameron Jerome was a second half substitute, playing out the final thirty minutes in Crystal Palace's 1-0  defeat at home to Southampton.

Meanwhile, Brek Shea was not involved in Barnsley's victory over promotion chasers Nottingham Forest and has returned to the Britannia Stadium. He made eight appearances for the Tykes while on loan at Oakwell.
