STOKE CITY Community Fund is joining forces with TESCO Extra Hanley to support the city's Foodbank project.
The Foodbank, which has centres in Hanley, Longton, Abbey Hulton, Burslem, Fenton, Blurton and Chell Heath, provides food for hundreds of families and individuals in crisis.
People referred to the Foodbank are given a package with enough food for three meals a day for three days for each member of the family.
The project relies on food donations from local people and the Club's Community Fund will match every donation made between the times of 11am-1pm and 4-6pm at TESCO Extra Hanley tomorrow.
City Head of Community Adrian Hurst said: "It's a fact that every day in the UK people are going hungry because, for a number of reasons, they cannot afford to put food on the table.
"The Foodbank supports families and individuals in crisis in Stoke-on-Trent. We are delighted to offering our backing and would urge people to make a donation which we will match at TESCO Extra in Hanley tomorrow."
Stoke and England striker Peter Crouch is backing the initiative. He said: "I would urge people to go along to TESCO Extra Hanley and make a donation to a worthwhile cause that works hard for people in city of Stoke on Trent."
