The Potters will go head-to-head with the Major League Soccer outfit at the BBVA Compass Stadium in the opening match of the 10-day trip to the United States which will form a key part of their preparations for the 2013-14 season.
The game will take place on Wednesday 24th July and City will then also face FC Dallas, Brek Shea's former club, three days later.
City's Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: "Geoff Cameron's transfer to us from Houston Dynamo last summer presented us with an opportunity to play against them if we decided to return to the US as part of our pre-season preparations.
"Last year's trip proved to be enormously successful in the eyes of the football management and players and we're delighted to be heading back there again."
City are due to fly to the US on Monday 22nd July and will have a couple of days to acclimatise before they face Houston, who are currently third in the MLS's Eastern Conference.
