Ex-Skippers 'Big' Day

FORMER POTTERS captain Michael Duberry will turn back the clock next weekend in the eagerly awaited Britannia Stadium Big Event on 2nd June, sponsored by Listers and Q-Railing.

More than six years after his last appearance for the Club, the hugely popular central defender is to line-up for Stoke City again as a Legends XI take on the LivSmarter Allstars as part of the fun-packed family day that will also feature a performance by JLS.

Duberry is to join Mark Stein, Steve Simonsen, Dave Regis and Ian Clarkson in the Legends side that will be managed by Denis Smith.

There's no shortage of big names in the Allstars squad, with Royle Family star Ralph Little joining Coronation Street's Alan Halsall, Chris Fountain and Ryan Thomas, Hollyoaks' pair Ashley Taylor Dawson and Jamie Lomas and Adam Thomas from Emmerdale in committing to the big game.

The match features in the build-up to the undoubted highlight of the day - the performance by JLS.

The world's biggest boy band will treat those attending the Big Event to a selection of their greatest hits, having had five UK number ones since they emerged as runners-up on the television reality show The X-Factor.

After five years of phenomenal success, JLS recently announced they will be splitting up at the end of this year, creating a clamour for opportunities to see them perform before going their separate ways, which is certain to be the case in the Potteries.
