Geoff Cameron & Peter Odemwingie Play As USA Beat Nigeria

GEOFF CAMERON came out on top in a battle with Peter Odemwingie when their respective countries clashed in a World Cup warm-up match in Jacksonville at the weekend.

Cameron played the full ninety minutes for the United States of America as they beat Odemwingie's Nigeria 2-1 on Saturday.

Both US goals came courtesy of Sunderland striker Jozy Altidore whilst Nigeria's late consolation was scored from the penalty spot by Chelsea's Victor Moses.

Stoke's defender further cemented his hopes of starting at centre back for Jurgen Klinsmann's side, who have won all three of their friendlies ahead of their Group G opener with another African side - Ghana - next Monday (16th June).

Odemwingie, meanwhile, played the first half for the Super Eagles as manager Stephen Keshi continued to experiment ahead of the start of the tournament in Brazil.

This defeat follows draws with Scotland and Greece but he'll be hoping that it all clicks into place when they kick off their Group F fixtures against Iran in seven days' time.
