Higginbotham Loan Extended

STOKE CITY have today given the go-ahead for experienced defender Danny Higginbotham to extend his loan spell with Championship club Ipswich Town.

Higginbotham has made four starts for Paul Jewell's side since he made the switch to Portman Road and was due to face his former club Derby County on Tuesday evening.

The 33-year-old will now remain with Ipswich for a further two months to boost their battle to climb out of the bottom three in the Championship after a difficult start.

"I have spoken to Paul Jewell and he is really pleased with him, so it will be good for him to stay there for another couple of months," said manager Tony Pulis.

"Danny is a fantastic lad, one of the bedrocks on which we have built our success over the past few years. We'll do everything in power to help people who have been good to us, and Danny has certainly been good to this Football Club."
