Hughes Highlights Swansea Importance

Mark Hughes

MARK HUGHES admits it is vitally important for his side to bounce back to winning ways against Swansea City on Saturday.

The Welshman has overseen just one win in the last seven fixtures with Wednesday evening’s defeat leaving the Potters hovering just three points above the drop zone.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday morning, Hughes spoke of the significance of registering three points on the back of a succession of what he feels have been unjustified results.

“For our own benefit it feels like a must win game, I have to be honest,” he stated.

“People who watch us play week in week out know we are a good side and a side who can compete at this level.

“As always though we have to go out there and take the points that our performances deserve - we haven’t done that recently."

“We need to be strong in character and determination and go and pick up more points, hopefully starting tomorrow.”

He added: “We just need to get back to winning ways, and I sense that will happen this weekend.”

Tickets for Saturday's game are available from the bet365 Stadium ticket office, by visiting or calling (01782) 367599.
