MARK HUGHES made two changes to his starting line-up for Saturday's encounter against Sunderland at the Britannia Stadium.

Stephen Ireland and Wilson Palacios both lost their places in the starting eleven, with Charlie Adam and Glenn Whelan coming in at their expense.

Ireland missed out through injury, whilst Palacios was named amongst the substitutes having only returned back from international duty on Thursday.

Kenwyne Jones meanwhile, was also absent from the matchday squad having suffered a shoulder injury during Trinidad and Tobago's recent double-header with Jamaica.

STOKE CITY: Begovic; Cameron, Shawcross (c), Pieters; Walters, Whelan, Adam, Nzonzi, Arnautovic; Crouch. Subs: Sorensen, Wilkinson, Muniesa, Palacios, Shea, Assaidi, Etherington.
