Jon Walters Club Statement

STOKE CITY have issued the following statement after an Independent Regulatory Commission rejected the Club's claim of wrongful dismissal against Jon Walters:

"The Club gave careful consideration to whether or not to appeal Jon's sending-off but we felt compelled to do so in the interest of consistency after three incidents of a more serious nature in the Premier League last weekend failed to result in red cards.

"We are disappointed with the lack of consistency that this decision seemingly supports."

Walters must serve a three-match ban and will sit out Saturday's game against West Ham at the Britannia Stadium, a trip to Aston Villa and a home encounter with Hull.
