HELEN BOOTE couldn't quite believe her luck when she was chosen from more than 700 entries to win a signed Michael Owen shirt.

Her instant response to being notified that she had won a special stokecityfc.com competition was: "Is there any chance I can meet him".

So stokecityfc.com organised to recreate the photograph when the England striker posed for the cameras after becoming a City player.

This time, Helen, from Baddeley Green, was stood alongside Owen outside the Clayton Wood Training Ground complex along with that signed shirt which he used for his official unveiling at the beginning of September.

Such is the former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United's global popularity, the competition attracted entries from countries all over the world and produced one of the biggest responses on stokecityfc.com.
