Loan Move For Alabi

ACADEMY striker James Alabi has moved to League One side Scunthorpe United on a one-month loan deal.

The 18-year-old has been one of the standout performers for both the Under-18s and the Under-21s this season, and will join up with Brian Laws' side until March 23rd.

Alabi played an hour in the behind-closed-doors friendly against a Scunthorpe reserve team at the Britannia Stadium on Monday and made enough of an impression to spark the move.

He will wear shirt number 27 at Glanford Park and will be eligible for the visit of Hartlepool United on Saturday.

"An opportunity like this is potentially fantastic for James' development," said Academy manager Dave Wright.

"It doesn't surprise us, however, as he's been doing very well and it's nice to see him pushing on and getting an opportunity at such a high level."

Stoke City's Under-21s are set to visit Manchester City on Friday (7pm), while the Under-18s welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Clayton Wood on Saturday (12pm).
