Lund Extends Loan Deal

MATTHEW LUND has today agreed to extend his loan spell with Southend United until the end of the season . . . after impressing during his initial spell with the League Two side.
The 22-year-old winger has featured eight times for the Shrimpers, and scored a single goal, since joining the Club on a one-month agreement in February.
The midfielder's prolonged deal means he is eligible to feature in every game between now and the end of the season, including the play-offs, should Paul Sturrock's side close the six-point gap between themselves and Rotherham.
Lund's participation in what could be a dramatic climax to the League Two campaign, may also include an appearance at Wembley Stadium, in the Final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
The Essex-based Club take on League One side Crewe Alexandra, co-incidentally, the former Club of Lund, in the showpiece encounter on Sunday, 7th April.

The extended agreement was ratified by the Football League in time for the youngster to feature for United in Tuesday evening's game against Plymouth Argyle at Home Park.
