MATTHEW LUND has joined League Two side Southend United on a one-month emergency loan deal.
The 22-year-old spent the early part of the season with Bristol Rovers, and will join up with the Shrimpers until March 16th.
The midfielder, who joined City with Ben Marshall from Crewe Alexandra in the summer of 2009, has so far failed to make a first-team appearance, having spent further loan spells at Hereford United and Oldham Athletic.
He joins Paul Sturrock's Southend with them sitting in ninth place in League Two and two points off the play-off positions.
Lund is eligible to feature in their match against fellow promotion chasers Northampton Town at Roots Hall tomorrow afternoon, and will also be available for their Football League Trophy clash against Leyton Orient next Wednesday.
"I didn't want to put Matty in the 25-man squad because we're looking to find him a Club," said manager Tony Pulis in a recent press conference.
"He's been a great lad here and deserves to play."
