STOKE CITY have successfully applied to the Premier League for their midweek home match day to be moved from Tuesday to Wednesday, the Club can confirm.
Mark Hughes asked for the switch to be made soon after being appointed manager of the Potters in May and it will affect just two league games at the Britannia Stadium in the forthcoming season - the visits of Cardiff in December and Swansea in February.
Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: "We have played our home midweek games on a Tuesday for a number of years but different managers have their own preferences and Wednesday fits in with Mark's training schedule.
"We asked whether it would be possible to make the change and we're grateful to the Premier League for approving our application.
"We consulted with Cardiff and Swansea throughout the process and would also like to place on record our thanks for their co-operation."
The game against newly-promoted Cardiff will now take place at the Britannia Stadium on 4th December, with their South Wales rivals Swansea now scheduled to visit the Potteries on 12th February.
Please note the switch applies to home games only.
