Palacios In As Ireland Misses Out

WILSON PALACIOS was recalled back into the starting eleven for Saturday's live televised encounter against Chelsea, as boss Mark Hughes made one change to his starting eleven.

The Honduran international started in central midfield at the expense of Stephen Ireland, who was missing through illness.

The rest of the side was as you were against Hull City last time out, with Asmir Begovic ushering a back four that comprised of Geoff Cameron, Ryan Shawcross, Marc Wilson and Erik Pieters.

Palacios, who last started during the 4-1 triumph over Aston Villa last month, occupied the central midfield position along with Glenn Whelan and Steven Nzonzi played in the more advanced central position.

In-form Peter Odemwingie lined up on the right hand side of a front three with Marko Arnautovic on the left. Leading scorer Peter Crouch led the line.

Stoke City: Begovic; Cameron, Shawcross (c), Wilson, Pieters; Arnautovic, Whelan, Nzonzi, Palacios, Odemwingie; Crouch. Subs: Sorensen, Wilkinson, Muniesa, Adam, Etherington, Walters, Guidetti.
