Potters Return Home

STOKE CITY'S first team squad are scheduled to return to the United Kingdom this lunchtime after their pre-season tour of Germany drew to its climax last night.

The Potters succumbed to a narrow 2-1 defeat against Bundesliga side Schalke 04 in Kufstein, Austria, a game in which Bojan netted his first goal for the Potters.

Mark Hughes and his squad of players, which includes the recent Spanish acquisition, left their base in Reit im Winkl, southern Germany, at around 8am local time (7am BST).

From there they travelled to Salzburg international airport just across the Austrian border, before boarding their flight direct into Manchester.

The players are due to return back to training at Clayton Wood tomorrow morning, before taking in two further pre-season friendlies over the weekend.

League Two outfit Burton Albion play host to the Potters at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday, whilst Championship side Blackburn Rovers lie in wait at Ewood Park on Sunday afternoon (both 3pm).
