Praise For Crouch

Peter Crouch & Darren Fletcher

DARREN FLETCHER has saluted the desire of Peter Crouch as the experienced frontman closes in on yet another personal record.

Crouch has achieved a number of accolades including his 100th Premier League goal as well as entering the Guinness Book of Records for the most headed goals in the top flight.

Following his recent goal against Leicester City, the forward is now one strike away from becoming Stoke City’s all-time leading Premier League scorer.

Crouch is currently level with Jonathan Walters (43) as the Club’s top talisman and Fletcher was full of praise for the 6ft 7in forward.

“It’s a fantastic achievement and it is a record that he will break at this football club,” the Scot told Premier League Productions.

“He’s got a few little records recently, he’s a fantastic player who we’re obviously delighted to have here so hopefully he can get on the scoresheet this weekend.

“He has the desire and the want to keep pushing on and breaking records, that is what has made him so successful in his career."

“He has the want to keep scoring goals as well as the dedication to be out there playing, enjoy training every day and be a part of something successful.

“You see that when he celebrates. You’re a long time retired so you want to make as many memories as you can to tell the grandkids so-to-speak.”
