Reserves In Action

STOKE CITY reserves are in action at Clayton Wood Training Ground this afternoon when they face Fleetwood Town in the Central League Cup.

The 2.00pm kick-off will give the chance for Development Squad youngsters and first-team fringe players to get some valuable minutes under their belts, while the game also has a slight edge with it being in the reserve competition.

Carlo Nash, Danny Higginbotham, Diego Arismendi and Mamady Sidibe are all set to feature.

City opened their Central League Cup campaign with a 2-1 win at Morecambe a fortnight ago - Karim Rossi and Michael Tonge grabbed the goals on that occasion.

They also have scheduled fixtures against Tranmere Rovers and Rotherham United in their group.

The Elite Development Squad have struggled in a very competitive Under-21 Premier League and have lost their three games so far including a 5-1 reverse against Newcastle United last Monday.

Today's match will give players a chance to bounce back from those results ahead of next Monday's visit to Tottenham Hotspur (12.00pm) in Group 2.

*Entry is free for supporters who wish to come along to Clayton Wood Training Ground for this afternoon's match.
