Rod Stewart To Perform At The Brit

THE CLUB are proud to announce that Rock superstar Rod Stewart will take to the stage at the Britannia Stadium next summer as part of his hugely anticipated open-air stadium tour.

The music icon, who is a two-time inductee in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will be performing at five venues across the United Kingdom in June 2014, following his sell-out 'Live The Life Tour', which took place earlier this year.

A lifelong Celtic supporter, Stewart is a football fanatic, as is proven by the fact that alongside the Britannia Stadium, other venues include Brighton and Hove Albion's Amex Arena and Blackpool's Bloomfield Road.

Performing hits old and new, the Scottish superstar's performance here in the Potteries on Saturday 14th June will mark the 40th Anniversary of the last time he played in Stoke, back in December 1974 with legendary group The Faces.

Announcing the news, Rod Stewart told "A lot's happened for me both professionally and personally since I last played these locations and I'm delight to be coming back.

"It's been a long time coming, but I'm looking to make my return something people will remember. It's going to be fantastic playing football stadiums and the atmosphere is going to rock!"

Promoters Cuffe & Taylor, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be promoting these three major venues as part of Rod's five-date tour next year. They promise to be very special events for everyone.

"It's also great to see Rod back entertaining in two towns for the first time in 40 years and he's sure to get a great reception from his army of fans.

"The stadiums are the biggest venues on Rod's tour next summer and we're sure they will all be sell outs as people flock to see a truly International superstar."

Stoke City's Head of Commercial, Andrew Billingham added: "We are absolutely delighted the Britannia Stadium is to be the venue for one of the five dates of Rod Stewart's 2014 open air stadium tour.

"As every music fan knows, Rod is arguably the United Kingdom's most celebrated and successful rock star, and we are honoured to have been selected as one of the venues for his forthcoming tour."

"It's not only important for us as a football club but also for Stoke-on-Trent as the concert will hopefully bring revenue to the city."

Tickets for the event will go on sale from 10am on Friday 22nd November priced from £55 and are available to purchase online at, or by phone on 0844 888 9991.
