Shaq At The Double

STOKE CITY 5 (Shaqiri 22, 29, Joselu 51, Diouf 63, Arnautovic 82)

XHERDAN SHAQIRI marked his first pre-season outing for Stoke City with a brace of goals as the Potters brought the curtain down on their trip to the USA with a 5-0 win over Orlando City B.

Swiss international Shaqiri, back in action for the first time since EURO 2016, was on the scoresheet twice in the space of seven minutes in the first of three 30-minute periods in the Florida sunshine.
Joselu, Mame Diouf and Marko Arnautovic also helped themselves to goals as City followed up their 2-1 victory over Orlando City A last week with a far more convincing win.
Today's game marked the first appearance in a Stoke shirt for recent signing Joe Allen, while Shay Given, Glenn Whelan and Geoff Cameron made their first warm-up outings for the Potters following their summer international commitments.
Shaqiri set Mark Hughes' men on their way to their third victory of their pre-season campaign in the 22nd minute. Peter Crouch's chest-down sent him clear with just the 'keeper to beat and after taking the ball wide, 'Shaq' fired home with his left-foot from a tight angle.
He bagged his second goal with his left foot as well; Bojan was the provider this time and Shaqiri made no mistake with a crisp shot.
Joselu made it 3-0 in the 51st minute with another excellent finish after he had been picked out by Arnautovic.
Diouf continued his rich vein of goal-scoring form as he bagged his third of pre-season in the 63rd minute after combining well with Academy starlet George Waring.
Another youngster, Joel Taylor, provided the cross from which Arnautovic made it 5-0 eight minutes from time as Hughes' men showed absolutely no mercy against their opponents from the United Soccer League.
The Potters leave the states tomorrow and will spend a couple of days at their Clayton Wood training base before flying to Germany on Friday for their final pre-season game, against Hamburg SV at the Volksparkstadion on Saturday.
The game kicks off at 4pm local time (3pm UK time) and you will be able to follow all the action via and @stokecity.
City have sold more than 550 tickets for the game and although tickets are no longer on sale from in England, they will be available for visiting fans to purchase on the day of the game itself. They will be available from a ticket booth in the south east section of the Volksparkstadion.
