Simmo's 'Big' Return

STEVE SIMONSEN has become the latest ex-Potters star to sign up the for the Stoke City Legends line-up to go head-to-head with a Celebrity XI, the Livsmarter Allstars, as part of the Britannia Stadium Big Event on Sunday 2nd June.

The former City goalkeeper has joined striker Mark Stein in confirming his participation in the game that features in the build-up to the undoubted highlight of the fun-packed occasion, a performance by pop superstars JLS in the evening.

The world's biggest boy band will treat those attending the Big Event to a selection of their greatest hits, having had five UK number ones since they emerged as runners-up on the television reality show The X-Factor.

After five years of phenomenal success, JLS recently announced they will be splitting up at the end of this year, creating a clamour for opportunities to see them perform before going their separate ways, which is certain to be the case in the Potteries.

Their appearance will round off a fantastic Big Event, which is sponsored by Q-railing and Listers, one that includes the big match involving stars from the world of TV soaps test their skills against famous names from Stoke's past.

Coronation Street stars Alan Halsall (who plays Tyrone Dobbs), Chris Fountain (Tommy Duckworth) and Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw) will be among the big names in the Livsmarter Allstars line-up.
