Steino Returns For Big Event

POTTERS HERO Mark Stein will turn back the clock next month as he pulls on the famous red and white stripes of Stoke City again.

'Steino', fresh from being selected in the Club's Greatest Ever XI as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations, will spearhead the attack for a City Legends line-up against a Soap Star XI in a charity game at the Britannia Stadium Big Event on Sunday 2nd June.

The 47 year old, whose goals fired Stoke to the Division Two title in 1992-93, is the first player to confirm his participation in the game on what promises to be a fantastic day out for all the family.

There's so much more to the Big Event than just the big match as the seven-hour extravaganza will also feature live music from a headline act that is yet to be announced. There will also be a fun fair and a dance competition (with a first prize of £250), while food and drink will be available.

There will also be bucket collections and fund-raising initiatives for the Stoke City Community Trust and University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

Running order:
11am - Funfair opens (North Car Park)
12noon - Turnstiles open
12-2pm - Live music from local bands
2-3pm - Dance competition, featuring 18 dance groups
3-4.45pm - Stoke City Legends v Celebrity XI match
5-5.30pm - Dance competition winners announced
6pm - Headline act

Tickets for the Britannia Stadium Big Event are available online at, by calling (01782) 367599 and in-person at the Britannia Stadium Ticket Office or at the Potteries Shopping Centre Club Store.
