MARK HUGHES today hailed the strength of character within the Stoke City dressing room that he hopes may lead to a top ten Premier League finish.
The Potters boosted their hopes of clinching a top half finish with a 3-1 home win over West Ham on Saturday.
They currently sit 11th in the table as they start to prepare for next Sunday's all-Midlands date with Aston Villa at Villa Park and Hughes is delighted with the progress his side are making and the influence exerted by his senior players.
He told stokecityfc.com: "We're playing well at the moment with just one defeat in seven games and that was against Manchester City at their place.
"It's easy to generate team spirit when results are going your way but our spirit has been good all season.
"That's one of the strengths of this Club; the dressing room is really good. Even when we were producing decent performances and not getting the rewards we deserved, the dressing room was always strong.
"We've got a good group of senior players who thankfully drive that."
