Ultimate Strongmen Set For Stoke

THE BRITANNIA STADIUM will play host to a huge World's Ultimate Strongest Team event on Saturday 31st May.

The event, which will be a huge treat for strongman fans across the country, sees the sport's biggest names appear on one show in the UK for the very first time.

Stoke-on-Trent's Eddie Hall and Terry Hollands of Dartmouth will join forces in Team Saxon to take on Team America with 3,000 tickets already sold for the event (£20 for adults, £10 for children).

Team America stars 6' 8", 29 stone Brian Shaw, the 2011 and 2013 World's Strongest Man, who makes a rare appearance on UK soil and Mike Burke Jr, the two-time America's Strongest Man (6' 6", 26 stone).

The World's biggest strongman Thor Bjornsson, who towers over the rest of the field at 6' 9" and also stars in the hit television series Game of Thrones, will also be competing.

Other strongman stars include the 3 time World's Strongest Man (2009, 2010, 2012) and one of the greatest of all time Zydrunas Savickas (Lithuania) and Poland's Krzysztof Radzikowski, the power lifting specialist and 2012 WSF World Strongman Champion.

Three time UK's Strongest Man Hall is confident of a Team Saxon victory, saying, "Myself and Terry have all skills needed to beat the rest of the world

"With my awesome static power and Terry's excellence in the mobility events, I honestly believe the event favourites, Team America, won't stand a chance.

"Terry and I are on home soil, and with 8,000 fans roaring us on, I'm certain we will win."

The World's Strongest Man Brian Shaw, however, refuted Hall's claims, "Eddie and Terry are great strongmen in the UK, but neither has won World's Strongest Man.

"They're playing in the big league now, and my size 16 feet will stamp all over their dreams.

"They will have to be on their very best form to have any chance of beating me.

"One thing's for sure, the fans are going to love watching me and Mike lift the title."

The World's Ultimate Strongest Team event takes placed at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday 31st May with doors opening at 11.00am for a 1.00pm start. Tickets are priced at £20 for adults and £10 for children and are available to purchase by clicking HERE.
