Under-18s Secure First Win

CITY'S UNDER-18s collected their first three points of the season at the weekend with a comprehensive 3-0 victory against West Bromwich Albion.

Derice Richards bagged a brace against the Baggies, with Eddy Lecygne also getting his name on the scoresheet for the Potters at Clayton Wood.

It was a pleasing opening win from their fourth game of 2013/14, following a tough start that included games against Fulham and both Manchester clubs.

Stoke had lost to Man City only a few days prior to the fixture, with Johnville Pringle's superbly executed volley from the edge of the area proving nothing more than a consolation in the 2-1 defeat.

They took that strike as inspiration, though, with Lecygne firing home a free kick similar to Jermaine Pennant's winner at the weekend to open the scoring against West Brom.

Richards doubled the advantage when he stabbed home a right wing cross from eight yards out, before running on to a long ball forward and smashing home a second to net his brace with aplomb.

John Perkin's side now enjoy a weekend off for the international break before returning to action with an away game against Arsenal on Saturday 14th September.
