Norwich City 1 Stoke City 1

Posted on: Thu 08 Jan 2009

Adrian Pennock's Under 18's side went out of the FA Youth Cup at the Fourth Round stage last night after an agonising 4-2 penalty defeat at Carrow Road.

Louis Moult's late equaliser for the Potters took the game into penalties after Tyree Clarke's cross had earlier evaded goalkeeper Tom Harrison to drop into the back of the net.

The Canaries had earlier struck Harrison's woodwork on two occasions while the keeper also had to be on red alert throughout the game, making a number of good saves.

It was the Norwich keeper who would become the hero of the hour, however, as Declan Rudd first denied Daniel Stockhall and Salif Diao-Jiminez from the spot before stepping up himself to score their winner.

Pennock's men now have to turn their attentions swiftly to the league, where they face Bolton Wanderers at the Lostock Academy on Saturday.

CITY: Harrison; Diao-Jiminez, Vauls, Wedderburn (Connor 112), Page, McDonald, Urwin, Nicholls, Alexander (Yilmaz 105), Moult, Vickers (Stockhall 87). Subs (Not Used): Partom, Cohen.
