Academy Success
It was a successful weekend for City's Academy teams as they won two and drew one of their matches.
The Under 18's defeated Crewe Alexandra 3-2 at Reaseheath thanks to a brace from Danny Stockhall and another from Louis Moult.
Moult scored from the penalty spot, as did Stockhall (pictured), who showed immense courage to avenge his miss in the penalty shoot-out FA Youth Cup defeat at Norwich City.
The Under 16's, meanwhile, came back from 2-0 down to also beat Crewe, with Alex Headley starting the comeback before substitute strike Adam Langley notched two goals to secure the win.
Elsewhere, the Under 14's held Manchester United to a draw away from home yesterday, and were denied what looked like a cast-iron penalty in the dying stages.
The Under 18's now turn their attentions to Saturday's game with Blackburn Rovers, which takes place at the Michelin Sports Ground (kick off 11.00am).
