Club Charities 2009/10
Stoke City Football Club have three nominanted charities for the 2009/10 season.
The Club have agreed to work and develop partnerships with the following charities for the forthcoming season:
- Donna Louise Trust
- Caudwell Children
- PASS
These charities will receive a number of benefits throughout the season and will be administered through the Commercial and Community departments.
We will be looking to support the charities through the Chairman's Charity Ball which was a huge success last year and will be taking place on the Friday 27th November 2009 , also through the Community Shield charity donation, as well as other activities through out the year.
The charities we support are either local to our Club or have an appeal which we feel meets with the wishes of our directors, Club and our supporters.
Whilst these three charities are the official nominated charities, we will still look at support other local community events. For example, the Douglas Macmillian Hospice's 'Midnight to Sunrise Walk' will once again start from the Britannia Stadium and well as the Star Bikers Christmas motorbike run.
The Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust
Where every moment counts
The Donna Louise Children's Hospice provides respite and end of life care for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
The time that the children have with us is precious. What matters is that we create a wealth of happy memories and give the children and families a much needed break, because every moment counts.
All of their services are provided free of charge to the families that need them. They rely on voluntary donations to raise the £2 million every year to provide this vital care and support for children and families in Staffordshire and South Cheshire.

Caudwell Children
The Caudwell Group of Companies was committed to raising vitally needed funds for children in desperate need since the mid 1990s. In 1999, John Caudwell, Chief Executive of the Caudwell Group, became President of the North Staffordshire Branch of the NSPCC, and the Midland Regional representative for the NSPCC's Full Stop Campaign, reporting directly to HRH The Duke of York.
Caudwell Children changes the world for special children throughout the UK, with direct donations of treatment, therapy, specialised equipment and dying wish holidays.
Caudwell Children is a Special, Efficient and Unique Charity. Special because it helps children in desperate need. Efficient because every pound raised goes directly to the children - these two points making it truly Unique.
All the management and administrative expenses of the Charity are covered by John Caudwell. For every pound donated not one single penny is spent on overheads, salaries, rent, electricity, postage, stationary etc.
In addition we negotiate the price of every item we purchase and if we can get it for free, we do, which means that your donated pound works even harder. In fact, because of the efficient way we spend and manage the money we are able to double the value of every donated pound.
Partners Assuring A Safer Staffordshire (PASS)
The trustees of Partners Assuring a Safer Staffordshire (PASS) announce each year a round of grants to improve community safety and reduce crime.
Groups and organisations from across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent may apply for a grant from £20 up to £2,000 to support their initiative. Some funding towards the total project cost must also be raised by the group.
The trustees particularly look for projects that can reduce the causes of anti social behaviour and provide greater cohesion between community members.
PASS grants have been awarded to groups that have worked closely with community police officers to provide activities for young people to get involved, these have included boxing, fishing, setting up youth cafes and community gardens.
Grants have also been given to secure community buildings: to provide a sense of security to users, prevent vandalism and ensure the community has a centre where they can meet.
