With around 350 schools in our catchments area, the Community Programme staff have been kept very busy helping many young people strive for an improved lifestyle with the help of sport.

Stoke City Community Programme has built up an excellent relationship with our local schools and their local communities. By introducing the young people to physical activities, they strive for better physical condition, which can also lead to a better mental condition.

Community Programme staff are no longer delivering just football sessions, our coaching team are now qualified to deliver a whole range of sports including, rugby, cricket, hockey, and athletics. One of our aims is to offer these diverse sports to young people so they can experience different sports and have the opportunity to develop new skills.

More recently we have seen the department's development of a social inclusion team which uses sport and the surroundings of the football club to motivate and engage with young people, particular those young people that are traditionally hard to reach.

We are constantly looking to increase the work we do with local schools and local groups within the local area, should any school or group wish to take advantage of our services then they will be made most welcome.

Finally last year we launched over flagship initiative City 7s. City 7s is an initiative that sees 7 years olds from the area, given a birthday package of events, activities and presents, which are designed to introduce the young people to Stoke City and football in particular.
