Football Coaching & Player Development
Soccer Schools & Holiday Clubs
All children taking part in our Soccer Schools and Holiday Clubs will not only benefit from developing their own skills but also understanding the benefits of working in a team. As well as the true meaning of the word 'FUN'.
All the children who attend the Soccer Schools and Holiday Clubs have the opportunity to be referred to the development centre, or Clubs 9-16 Academy programme or the Girls Centre of Excellence.
Throughout the soccer schools and holiday clubs all the young people involved are faced with challenging skill sessions, Penalty Shootouts, Small sided games, and as well as the incentives of certificates of attendance, player of the course and star of the day awards, and the opportunity referring young players to the clubs development centres, academies and the girls centre of excellence.
"I'll always remember my time on the Soccer Schools that were organised by Stoke City. It was a fantastic experience and I had loads of fun. This was the first step that put me on the road to Stoke City's first team". "This happened to me - it could be you next" Andy Wilkinson Stoke City player.

Development Centre
Following consultation with Stoke City's Academy in the summer of 2005 it was decided that the Community Programme would help bridge the ever growing gap between mass participation football coaching and the academy's player requirements. The Development Centre is intended to form a link between the Community Programmes football coaching programme and Stoke City's Academy.
The Development Centre operates an invitation only basis for children to be recommended to the development centre.
Player are recommended to the Development Centre by the Community Programmes coaches and Academy coaches who in their every day coaching at schools, after school clubs, soccer schools, holiday clubs and sponsored penalty shootouts are constantly keeping an eye out for talented players who have the potential to make the step up to the next level.
Players are divided into appropriate age groups and receive coaching from our highly qualified coaches. We also look to give all aged groups competitive opportunities throughout the season.
Academy staffs regularly come and look at players in the Development Centres to see how they are progressing.
The Community Programme work very closely with George Foster and Adrian Pennock and the rest of his team and fully understand what the Academy expect from us all as coaches and players.
