Peter Fox

Posted on: Tue 22 Jun 2010

At 15 years and 8 months, goalkeeper "Foxy" was and still is the youngest ever player to make an appearance in Sheffield Wednesday's first team.

After leaving the club, he played for several others during a number of loan spells in the mid-70s before settling at City in March 1978.

Although he was initially out of favour with then City boss Lou Macari, Fox helped his team to win the Autoglass Trophy in 1993 and the Championship of the Second Division.

Over 15 years he made 477 appearances in total, before acquiring an injury and eventually moving on to Linfield.

He went on to become player-coach, and then manager at Exeter City, and has held several different roles since including 'scout' and 'joint-goalkeeping coach' at Rochdale and Blackpool respectively.

Appearances for the Potters: 477.
