Known affectionately to the fans as "White Legs", Conroy joined City from Irish club Glentoran for £10,000 in March 1967.

He was immediately loved by the fans for both his talent for both scoring and supplying goals.

His pace, bodyswerve and ability to shoot with great power from either foot all entertained equally.

His talents were rewarded by winning and scoring in the 1972 League Cup Final against Chelsea.

Conroy enjoyed 12 years with City, and was capped by the Republic of Ireland 26 times.

He retired in 1981 but still has strong ties the Club due to his matchday hosting role at the Britannia Stadium.

Appearances for the Potters: 302 + 31 substitute appearance. 66 goals.
