Stoke LFC came into their first home league game of the season encouraged by an away win the week before.

The Management asked the team to be more positive from the word go and within 2 minutes good vision by Kate Asher set-up captain Anna Lowndes to shoot into the top left hand corner for a 1-0 score-line.

Stoke continued to dominate proceedings with some fine approach play with Katie Wright, Georgia Key, Kate Asher and Anna Lowndes all going close, but not really testing the Kidderminster keeper.

The second half started similar to the first with Stoke controlling the game. It almost became 2-0 when a fine 4 pass end to end move resulted in Katie Wright firing wide, however she hit the target 5 minutes later, smashing home her 2nd in as many games.

Stoke continued to dictate play and scored a 3rd when Katie Plant finished from close range. The 4th came when substitute Holly Cowan fired a 25 yarder into the top corner. The fifth was netted by Georgia Key with a left footed cross into the net, and the sixth came from substitute Chantelle Gallagher. Gallagher went on a solo 50 yard run before firing the ball past the keeper.

This was a welcome performance and sets Stoke up for their next game away at Rea Valley Rovers on the 23rd September. Their next home game is against Shrewsbury on September 30th at the Michelin with a 2pm kick-off time.
