Ladies Success

Posted on: Tue 27 Jan 2009

City's Ladies team enjoyed back-to-back victories at the weekend after a 3-0 victory over Coleshill followed a 14-0 demolition of Wednesbury.

A host of postponements over Christmas meant only one game in a month prior to their County Cup clash at Wednesbury, but it didn't stop the ladies securing a fabolous victory.

Emma Sanders notched four of the goals, while Chantelle Gallagher and Jade Beech also grabbed hat-tricks. Kim Barber, Anna Lowndes, Leila Hopkins and Nic Hudson were also on the scoresheet.

Their attentions turned back to the league though this past Sunday, and strikes from Gallagher, Lowndes and Beech ensured another three points in the West Midland Premier Division.

It's now four wins and a single defeat from their opening five games, with a massive seven games in hand on table toppers Bradwell Belles.

One of those games comes tomorrow night with a trip to Walsall, a side that they overturned 13-1 at home back in September.
