City In Action

Posted on: Fri 09 Oct 2009

Although the first team aren't in action this weekend due to the international break, there are several other sides representing the Club.

The Academy Under 18's and Under 16's face Wolverhampton Wanderers tomorrow morning while the Ladies face the same team on Sunday afternoon.

Adrian Pennock's Under 18's have enjoyed a good start to the campaign after following on from an impressive pre-season in which they scored twelve goals in just two fixtures.

They picked up ten points from the opening six games and were unbeaten until last week's 1-0 slip to unbeaten table-toppers Blackburn Rovers.

Striker Louis Moult has already bagged four goals whilst also finding time to make his first team debut in the Carling Cup win at Leyton Orient.

Moult and his team-mates will now be looking to get back to winning ways against a Wolves outfit who are one point and one place ahead of the Potters.

The Ladies, meanwhile, are adjusting to life in the Midland Women Combination League well following promotion last term.

Vicky Mitchell's side began the season with a 1-0 win against Sunday's opposition with Chantelle Gallagher scoring the only goal of the game.

They also recorded a 4-0 win at Loughborough Foxes with Kate Asher grabbing a hat-trick.

Last week saw a thrilling 4-4 draw with Sporting Club Albion in which Asher bagged a further two; Gallagher and Emma Sanders also on the scoresheet.

The Ladies lie fourth in the table on seven points, with Wolves in sixth on a point less.
