KENWYNE JONES admits he is still harbouring hopes of featuring in Saturday's first home game of the season against Tottenham Hotspur… despite picking up an ankle injury on his debut against Wolves last weekend.

The Club record £8 million signing is desperate to overcome the knock in time to face Harry Redknapp's side, but has exclusively told 'Potters Matchday Magazine' that he won't risk himself unless he is absolutely 100 percent fit.

"I'm desperate to play, of course I am, but I'm not going to risk causing any further long term damage. Thankfully, it hasn't been anywhere near as serious as it could have been, and the fact that I have an outside chance of playing in the game is unbelievable.

"I'm delighted to be at this club, and I know I didn't do myself justice in my debut with having to come off so early, but I can assure supporters that when I make my next start I will show them what I am all about."
